In what many have described as a bold and controversial statement, the President of the Liberia DJs Association, Adolphus Morris, popularly known as DJ Mo, has openly criticized certain lawmakers for what he calls “total abandonment” of Liberian DJs.

Speaking at the close of a two-day refresher training for DJs in Monrovia, DJ Mo didn’t mince his words. He expressed deep frustration over the continuous neglect of the DJ community  particularly pointing fingers at Representative Emmanuel Dahn and Representative Bernard Benson, widely known as DJ Blue.

According to DJ Mo, it’s disappointing and disheartening that individuals who built their public image and influence through the art of Disc Jockeying have now turned their backs on the same craft that helped shape their careers.

“It’s frustrating,” he lamented. “These are people who know the struggle, who understand what it means to start with nothing but passion and a laptop  yet they’ve refused to even show up or lend a hand to the next generation of DJs.”

The Liberia DJs Association President’s remarks come amid claims that the lawmakers have, in the past, provided financial support to the association , claims DJ Mo appears to challenge with his latest comments.

He made it clear that under his leadership, the Association would no longer seek or depend on political goodwill, but instead focus on self-driven initiatives and partnerships to empower DJs across Liberia.

“We won’t beg for recognition anymore,” DJ Mo declared. “We’ll build our own platforms, source our own funding, and continue to push this profession forward with or without political support.”

The Liberia DJs Association, a vibrant network of international, local, and upcoming Liberian DJs, continues to serve as the backbone of the country’s entertainment industry ,providing the sound, energy, and creative pulse behind every major event.

As DJ Mo’s comments circulate, one thing is certain: his statement has reignited a heated conversation about how Liberia truly values its entertainment professionals especially those who once held the mic and now hold the power.
