The Liberia National Police (LNP) has formally charged
Peter Bon Jallah with statutory rape, sodomy, gang rape, and kidnapping following a forensic investigation that confirmed the sexual abuse of a 16-year-old boy, authorities have announced.

Jallah, a suspended aide of the National Security Agency (NSA), was forwarded to court on Monday, January 12, as police intensified efforts to ensure accountability in the high-profile case. According to the LNP, forensic evidence substantiated claims that the minor was sexually assaulted, leading to the multiple charges filed against the suspect.

Speaking on the matter, Inspector General of Police, Col. Gregory O. W. Coleman, assured the public that the Liberia National Police remains fully committed to justice. He emphasized that investigations are ongoing and that all individuals allegedly linked to the crime will be identified, investigated, and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Police allege that Jallah sodomized the minor alongside two other men, who are currently at large. Authorities say efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects as part of the broader investigation.

The victim, a community-based soccer player, was reportedly discovered in critical condition near a beach in Sinkor on Saturday, January 3. Family members confirmed that the teenager remains hospitalized and is receiving medical treatment as investigations continue.

In a related development, the Liberia National Police has cleared former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, J. Bryant McGill, of allegations linking him to the reported rape of a 14-year-old girl. Police, however, confirmed that the investigation into that case remains open, noting that authorities are still actively searching for the suspect involved.

The LNP has urged the public to remain calm while investigations proceed and reiterated its commitment to protecting minors and upholding the rule of law.

More details are expected as the case unfolds.
