    Paynesville, Liberia – October 9, 2025:

The Lone Star of Liberia delivered a commanding performance at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex, defeating Namibia 3–1 in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash. The victory keeps Liberia’s qualification hopes alive and sent thousands of home fans into celebration.

Liberia started with intent, striking early through Ayouba Kosiah, who converted a penalty just three minutes into the game after a handball in the Namibian box. The early goal set the tone for an electric atmosphere inside SKD. Six minutes later, Sulahmana Mamadu Bah doubled the advantage with a composed finish after a slick passing move that cut open the Namibian defense.

Despite Namibia’s attempts to regroup after halftime, Liberia remained disciplined in defense and dangerous on the counter. Substitute Edward Ledlum sealed the win in the 81st minute with a spectacular strike from distance , a goal that showcased his growing reputation as one of Liberia’s finest attacking talents.

Namibia managed a consolation in the 87th minute through David Ndeunyema, but it did little to dampen the home side’s dominance.

With this result, Liberia moves closer to contention for a playoff spot in Group H. The team’s resilience, sharp finishing, and tactical maturity earned praise from fans and analysts alike. Head Coach Ansumana Keita hailed his players for their fighting spirit, saying the performance “proved that Liberia can compete with the best on the continent.”
