The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), under the leadership of its Commissioner General, Col. Elijah F. Rufus, strongly warns all Immigration Officers across the country to desist from engaging in any political or politically related activities that could compromise the neutrality and professional integrity of the institution.

The Administration reminds all personnel that participation in political discussions, campaigns, or affiliations is strictly prohibited under the LIS Act of 2016 and the LIS Code of Conduct, which govern the professional behavior of all officers of the Service.

These legal instruments underscore the obligation of all officers to remain impartial, disciplined, and non-partisan in the discharge of their official duties.

The Administration further emphasizes that the credibility, unity, and public trust of the Liberia Immigration Service depend on officers maintaining the highest ethical standards and refraining from acts that could create perceptions of political favoritism or division within the Service.

Accordingly, the Administration will institute stringent disciplinary measures, including suspension or termination, against any officer found in violation of this directive, consistent with the LIS Act, the Code of Conduct, and the Civil Service regulations governing security institutions.

The leadership of the LIS reiterates its unwavering commitment to ensuring that all officers uphold the principles of professionalism, loyalty, impartiality, and national service. The Service remains dedicated to protecting Liberia’s borders, enforcing immigration laws, and upholding the rule of law in a non-political and professional manner.
